Nous présentons ci-après le témoignage de Jaclyn Miller, volontaire Peace Corp, sur son séjour à Bougouni.
(Jaclyn Miller, volontaire Peace Corp / Août 2009 / Bougouni) As a Peace Corps volunteer in Bougouni, I have been able to experience the joys of living and working with Malians firsthand. I came to Mali two years ago under the impression that I would be doing most of the teaching; however, it is undeniable that I have learned more than I have taught and have received more than I have given. Mali is one of the poorest countries in the world, but it is far from destitute. It is rich in culture and full of genuine hospitality, among other things. Malian women, in particular, never cease to amaze me. Arduously working from sunrise to sunset, they always end their day with smiles on their faces. I can only hope that I have touched the lives of Malians as deeply as they have touched mine. Jaclyn Miller, Peace Corps volunteer, Bougouni, September 2009 |
